Cleaning memory foam can be an arduous process if you’re not
familiar with how to do it.
In order to clean memory foam mattress topper you need a
few supplies:
-A hand vacuum with an attachment that’s a soft brush (or a
regular vacuum with the same attachment)
-Fabric cleaner (preferably Woolite)
-Water
-A plastic spray bottle
-White vinegar (distilled)
-Fan or hair dryer
-Tarp (unless you’re doing the cleaning outside-also if you are
doing the cleaning outside you’ll need a water hose with a
spray attachment)
Steps To Cleaning Memory Foam Mattress:
1. Using the soft brush attachment on your vaccum cleaner
vacuum the foam completely front and back.
2. Place the memory foam on a clean surface (on the tarp if you
are inside and if you are outside maybe on your porch or on a
clean spot in the driveway).
3. Mix two parts water and one part Woolite in your spray
bottle. Shake well before spraying.
4. Have someone help you with this step—stand the foam on its
end and spray the entire front and then the entire back with
the Water/Woolite solution. If you have two people you can have
one person hold the foam and the other person spray it.
5. Allow the clean memory foam solution to sit on the foam for
at least thirty minutes.
6. Once the solution has sat on the foam for thirty minutes
take the hose and spray the solution off.
7. This step in cleaning memory foam requires you to be very
gentle with the foam so be careful here—fold the foam over and
press or squeeze it to get the excess water out. Whatever you
do make sure you absolutely do not wring the foam or twist the
foam. If you do you will damage it beyond repair.
8. Empty the Woolite/Water solution out of the bottle and
refill the bottle with four parts water and one part
vinegar.
9. When you want to know how to clean memory foam mattress
topper try by holding the foam on end spray the front with
vinegar and then the back with vinegar.
10. Again with the hose rinse the memory foam out and then fold
and squeeze or press the excess water out. Remember that you
should NOT twist or wring the excess water out.
11. Now you can use a fan or a hair dryer to aid the foam in
drying out. Be careful with the hair dryer and do not get it
too close to the foam or you will damage it.
12. Before replacing it on your bed make sure it is completely
dry.
